Day 1. Duaringa, Q. 27.6.26

We have enjoyed having some time with our family and even though we have already spent 13 nights in the caravan this feels like the start of our 5 month trip around Australia.

Mark went for another swim early this morning. We departed Bundaberg at 9.30, about an hour later than hoped but we had to wait for the gas place to open.  Stopped in Bororen for a 'big things' photo. The giraffe is looking a little neglected.

Fuel in Calliope was cheaper than in Bundy so we decided to top up and have some lunch.

We are staying tonight at the Duaringa donation campground.  We have been here a few times before. There's toilets, showers, bins and we parked next to a tap and filled our 1 empty tank.

Red dirt and a rainbow 🌈 😍

We travelled 394 kms today. Light sprinkles of rain on occasions and temp range of 13-22°.

Bundaberg 25.6.26

Our 2 nights in Biggenden turned to into 4 nights unexpectedly. We called in to say good bye to Rachel and family.

We have booked in to the CMCA park in Bundaberg for 2 nights to have some more family time.

Ruby enjoying a little treat.
Fri~ Went for a early morning swim for Mark and just a soak for me so I didn't get my stitches wet.
Spent the day at Melissa and Luke's. Got a roadworthy on my car and changed the rego over to the Melissa.
Ruby and Ollie having a jump.

Moon shot from Millie. Millie is feeling unwell so we didn't get to 'play' with her much unfortunately.
We finished our day with a delicious takeaway Asian feast for dinner.

Tomorrow we move on and start our journey to Katherine. We have about 18 days to get there before our tour starts.

Biggenden 21.6.26

Sunday- After a busy morning finishing the cleaning and tidying of our house and shed it was time to load up the cruiser and tidy up the caravan.  We have been sleeping in the van for a week as the house was being emptied.

A fond farewell to our home of nearly 20 years. We were all hitched up and departed for Biggenden ~ 2.45pm. I followed Mark in my car as it's eventually going to live in Bundaberg.  I had some 10c containers to drop off at the church and a couple of tubs of 'stuff' for the op shop to deliver.

By the time I got to Dallarnil it was raining and didn't stop for hours. We have parked up at Rachel and John's farm for 2 nights. We travelled 102 kms.

Monday- a beautiful sunrise to wake up to.

I just 'played' with Rachel and the boys for most of the day while Mark ran around doing stuff for the sale of the house.
A wild peacock not in a hurry to move off the driveway.
Just caught the end of the sunset.

Tuesday- Out for an early wander.

Mark and I spent most of the day in Maryborough today.
We checked out the Town Hall toilets. It's not very often I get to go in the men's toilets but couldn't resist the offer to admire the art work of the 'cistern chapel'

Self portrait of the artist.

The ladies Golden Throne.
We had dinner with the family before returning to the van with the heater on low.

Wednesday- A very chilly start to the morning

We decided to celebrate the signing of the house contract with dinner at the Maryborough services club. It is our normal pub night after all.

Finally we are set to depart. Tomorrow morning we will head to Bundaberg for 2 nights.

An extra photo we just received from Issac and Skye's wedding 💙🩷
