Day 63. Beverley. 28.8.26

This morning we packed up and departed Perth for the Swan Valley area. We had morning tea at the Margaret River Chocolate Company in the Swan Valley. Free taste testing, hot chocolates and the rocky road were delicious. We bought a few treats for gifts.

We shared as it was a generous size.

With a little Granddaughter named Ruby how could we not take this back home with us.

We caught up with the lovely Amanda and her granddaughter at the Ugly Duckling Winery for a beautiful assortment of cold meats, cheese, fruits and more.

We sampled a few wines.

Way too much food.

We drove out to Beverley to spend the night at Amanda and Geoffs house, a lovely 120+ yr old, beautiful home. The house has 12ft, tin plate ceilings and polished floor boards and lots of original pieces of furniture,  it's gorgeous.

We walked into town for dinner and a show/play about the life of FIFO mine workers.

Railway station.  Grain trains still run through town twice daily.

Day 62. Perth. 27.8.26

Neither of us felt like going into the CBD so we had a lovely, relaxed morning, despite the chilly drizzle, in Guildford. A perfect place for wandering, especially with all the beautiful old colonial buildings and the Swan River nearby. We finished up with lunch at Padbury’s Café.

Stirling Square is a picturesque park located in the heart of Guildford, offering a tranquil setting surrounded by large, beautiful trees on the outer edge.

The heritage area connected to the information centre wasn't open today as it's manned by volunteers. We did wander around the grounds.

Swan River 

Over the cold and drizzle we stocked up on groceries and fuel and headed back to the van to do some washing and tidy up. We move on tomorrow. 

Todays temperature range was 11-16°, sure felt colder than that.
