We drove out to Geikie Gorge this morning. Unfortunately it's been badly damaged by flooding.  The 3 km walk was cut to more like 500m, but we had a good poke around anyway. Spotted no crocs.

Lots of potholes on the 18 km road to the gorge.

Saw lots of these on the road.

Not sure what these are. They were growing on a vine.

So much sand has been moved that the fence post is almost buried.

Wild passionfruit. Seeds get washed up in the floods or from bird deposits.

On the way back we stopped to have a look at the original crossing. We were going to drive down to the bridge but the sand was very loose and deep.

Filling up the holes so whoever was bogged could get out.

Also stopped at the original hospital site.

And the Crossing Inn, built in 1897. Unfortunately it was closed.

Coffee back at the lodge on the deck with nice views.

I was highly entertained by the birdlife this afternoon. 

The double barred finches kept coming for a bath.

The babblers were digging little holes everywhere. 

Tonight we are having a sausage sizzle to raise money for the RFDS. Unfortunately the BBQ caught fire as it hadn't been cleaned properly for goodness knows how long. After all was under control we grabbed frying pans and kept cooking.
