Went for a wander around the campground this morning.
Leaping lizards5 beef buses in overnight. Amazing skill these drivers have.
On the Tableland Hwy by 9am. This is our 3rd new road on this trip so far. Our daughter, Melissa, bought us a new map for our travels as we couldn't fit our big one in the van.
Pot holes and cows were a road hazard today.
We travelled through Alroy Downs Station.
Stopped at a gravel pit for mornos. We opened our wedding thank you honey today and I got to use my new (grand)mother's day cup from Haylee.
A slow moving hay road train passed us at our mornos stop. Eventually we caught him up. The state of the road was treacherous, small pot holes turned into craters.
We stopped to check out a sink hole. Lots of wildflowers around.
After a couple of false starts we found what we thought was a great gravel pit free camp on WikiCamps. We were part set up when we saw a helicopter and motor bike zooming around. Then there were ~ 100 cattle at the fence.
After they'd mustered these guys the motorcyclist came back and told us we were on private property (oopsy) and we would have to leave as they had another 600+ cattle to move and it wouldn't be safe for us to be there.
Eventually found a nice little rest area on the side of the Tablelands Hwy. Windmill with no blades.
Galahs rest area.
Tonight we had dinner outside and enjoyed looking for satellites π° We managed to find a few, including the ISS, and also a shooting star despite the intermittent cloud cover.
Today felt like we were back to our normal travelling style with plenty of stops to explore and enjoy the scenery at a much slower pace.
Today we travelled 275 kms, total of 2479 kms.
The temperature range was 12-32°
