Day 19 of our tour.
Regroup at Pardoo Roadhouse at 10am.
Destination Port Hedland.
Time on the road 3hrs 15 minutes.
Distance to travel 250 kms.
Bit of an interesting start to the day. Everyone made their own way to Pardoo. Due to 9 kms of corrugations from the van park people left according to their travel speeds. Some in motor homes travelled at 20 kms/hr, we travelled at about 75-80 as the road was in pretty good condition.
We had time for coffee at Pardoo. We were to stay in a free camp at the Turf club tonight but we just found out that the races are on in Port Hedland and the town is very busy so the group has decided to go to a free camp about an hour further on. We will decide what to do when we get to P.H and see for ourselves. We had a few things on our list of things to see & do.
Lots of big boys on the road today.
Coming into Port Hedland.
Piles of salt
Painted gas bottles.
Lots of boats on the horizon.
We had lunch at Rays Hotel with Mike & Jan from our tour group.
Oopsy we went into a restricted area and quickly did a u turn. It was a Rio Tinto site.
Dalgety House Museum was closed so we couldn't visit.
Not sure what this art work represents 🤷♀️
We finally worked out why the streets were empty and most things were closed...it's a public holiday 🤦🏽♀️
