Day 22 of our tour.
Briefing 7.50 am for 8am departure.
Destination Exmouth
Time on road 6 hrs
Distance to travel 545 kms.
A few left early this morning due to the distance. We chose to leave with the convoy at 8am. We had 3 stops on the way.
Gas plant along the way.Lots of rocky hills.
Quick stop for a stretch of the legs and a bit of cold pizza by the Fortescue River.
2nd stop at Nanutarra Roadhouse for a quick lunch break.
Personally I much prefer this scenery to a beach.
It has been cloudy all day and finally we got a welcome few drops. We haven't seen rain since before we left Queensland. The car and van are in need of a good bath.Flying Doctors landing strip.
We saw lots of cows with smiley face stickers
But a boat in the bushes was a little unusual.
Another photo from Jan. She left super early this morning so had lots of time to stop on the side of the road. She also has a small motorhome so can park up easier than us.
RAAF Base Learmonth.
We're staying at the RAC Exmouth Cape Park for 3 nights. After such a long day in the car we couldn't be bothered exploring so had a 'happy hour' instead.
A couple more of Jans photos. We saw these but couldn't stop unfortunately ⬇️
After checking earlier blogs it was day 4, (37 days ago) between Muttaburra and Longreach, since we saw any rain.
Todays temperature range was 19-29° and we travelled 545 kms, for a total of 6,309. Departed at 8am and arrived and set up by 4pm.
